This Sculpture was originally titled Making Buoyancy when it was first created in 2003. It has been exhibited many times in the years since and has had a name change in 2018 when I felt that the existing title wasn’t the correct catalyst to yield the best set of responses or questions asked regarding its content. Aqualung Buoyancy I feel is tilting in the right direction. Are there trifling kinds of buoyancies created from valuable life resources? I wonder. This sculpture is part of the buoyed family of works. I revisited this sculpture during the Covid lockdown and enjoyed immensely reacquainting myself with all its features once again after such a long time and noticed, whilst I was at it, that the signature was ARHA. I felt that the form and theme were appropriate for inclusion to Strange Beasts at the Lavit.
