BOOK LAUNCH & EXHIBITION OPENING: Thursday 7 March 2024
Solomon Fine Art is delighted to host an exhibition of new paintings by the highly celebrated Irish artist, Margaret Egan. The exhibition will coincide with the publication of the Egan’s first monograph, Natural Harmony: 40 Years of Painting, by Gandon Editions.
The Mythic Stories of Life & Landscape brings together a new collection of figurative and landscape paintings in Egan’s distinctive style. Based on her interpretation of contemporary urban and rural life, Egan’s stunningly atmospheric landscapes and graceful figurative compositions demonstrate both the tumultuous and the reflective aspects of our world. Her contemplative figures are set in dream-like, atmospheric backdrops and painted in balanced, harmonious tones while her bold and energetic landscapes are captured using loose, blended brushstrokes and a combination of stormy greys and warm autumnal tones which mirror the wild and ever-changing Irish landscape.
