Solomon Fine Art is delighted to host an exhibition of paintings by artist Maggie Morrisson. Apricity is a vibrant visual celebration of gardens and botanicals and the sense wonder and well-being that they can inspire.

Influenced by the gardens of her childhood, visits to tropical greenhouses and the sanctuary of her own garden in Co. Mayo, Morrisson draws both from her memories and her surrounding environment to create bright, dream-like compositions which reflect her experiences, curiosity, and deep appreciation of plants and nature.

Born in Dublin, Morrisson was educated at the National College of Art & Design, Dublin and at the University of Southern Illinois completing an MFA in 1992. She has exhibited her work widely throughout Ireland including the Rubicon Gallery Dublin, The Linenhall Arts Centre Castlebar, The Royal Hibernian Academy, Crawford Gallery Cork and the Butler Gallery Kilkenny. She is represented in  numerous collections including the OPW State Art Collection, Bank of Ireland, DCU, NCAD and Jefferson Smurfit Group and in private collections in Ireland, USA, UK, Australia, Germany and Egypt. Currently based in Achill, she is greatly influenced by her surroundings on the Western Seaboard and has received many awards for her striking contemporary work.
